The Marlins Were High Bidders For Pujols And Wilson

The Marlins were high bidders for Pujols and Wilson. Unfortunately they both signed with the Angels

The Marlins were offering a 10-year, a hair over $200 million deal to Albert Pujols, but sign with the Angels for $254MM, 10-year deal with a  full no-trade clause. The Marlins could have gotten Pujols only if they gave him a no-trade clause.

As for C.J Wilson, the Marlins were offering a $100MM, 6-years, but he sign with his hometown team the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Wison said "But if it were just about money I'd be a Marlin, straight up, because they offered more money, they have a great situation."  He ended up signing for a five-year, $77.5MM deal with the Halos.

According to @Ken_Rosenthal High-ranking Marlins official says team is not and will not be on Prince. Prince can't drive Latin market like Pujols could have.
