Marlins give INF Donnie Murphy a contract for 2012

On Monday, the Marlins lost one fan favorite as they traded Burke Badenhop to the Rays in exchange for 24-year-0ld catcher Jake Jefferies - But, moments later, the Marlins re-gained another fan favorite in Donnie Murphy after the Marlins extended him a contract for the 2012 season. Murphy, who beat out young Marlins prospect Matt Dominguez out of spring-training for the third-base job, had just 92 at-bats in 36 games for the Marlins before suffering a season-ending injury early in the season. Murphy, this time around, might have to settle for a bench role with the addition of Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez moving to third base of all goes as the Marlins hope in that heated discussion.

Marlins fans can welcome back Donnie Bleeping Murphy officially for 2012. Lets all hope he can remain healthy and be a big contributor for us off the bench.
